WHO WE ARE
Family Owned, Referral Driven, Seattle Grown
Grindstone Guys is a family-owned and operated plumbing and sewer company serving Seattle and the surrounding Puget Sound communities. We built this business on referrals, not advertising — which means every job we run has to be good enough that you’d hand our number to your neighbor.
Our crews carry over 20 years of combined experience in sewer repair, trenchless pipe lining and drain service, and we’ve seen what Seattle’s ground does to pipe: clay lines cracked by root intrusion, Orangeburg that’s collapsed into an oval, cast iron scaled shut, and side sewers that were never connected the way the plans said they were. We bring the camera, the jetter, the liner and the honest answer.
No guesswork. No selling you a replacement when a spot repair will do. We document what we find, hand you the video, and let the pipe make the argument.
WHAT WE DO
Two Kinds of Plumber, One Phone Number
Most companies pick a lane. The big franchises handle your leaky faucet but subcontract anything serious. The sewer specialists do excellent trenchless work but won’t come out for a running toilet. We do both — the same licensed crew, the same upfront pricing, whether it’s a $200 repair or a full sewer replacement.
Everyday Residential Plumbing
Water heaters, toilets, faucets, sinks, garbage disposals, hose bibs, laundry lines, leaks and water pressure problems. Most are diagnosed and fixed in a single visit, often same-day. We show up for small jobs — that’s not a throwaway line, it’s most of what we do.
Sewer, Drain & Trenchless
Sewer line repair and replacement, trenchless CIPP lining, pipe bursting, hydro jetting and camera diagnostics. This is the work most plumbers hand off to someone else. We own the equipment, we pull the permits, and we hand you the video.

Water Heater Repair & Replacement
No hot water, rusty water or a leaking tank — tank and tankless, usually same-day.

Toilet Repair & Installation
Running, leaking, weak flushing or clogging repeatedly — repaired or replaced in one visit.

Faucet, Sink & Disposal Repair
Drips, low flow, leaks under the cabinet and jammed garbage disposals.

Leak Detection & Repair
We find hidden leaks behind walls and under slabs before they become a rebuild.

Repiping & Water Lines
Failing galvanized or polybutylene, low pressure, discolored water - repiped properly.

Gas Lines & Sump Pumps
Licensed gas line work and sump pump repair or installation for wet Seattle basements.

Drain Cleaning
Slow drains and recurring clogs cleared, then diagnosed so they stop coming back.

Hydro Jetting
High-pressure water cuts grease, scale and roots a snake can't touch.

Sewer Line Repair & Replacement
Cracked, collapsed or root-invaded lines repaired or replaced, permits handled.

Trenchless Sewer Repair
CIPP lining and pipe bursting restore your line without trenching the yard.

24/7 Emergency Plumber
Burst pipe, sewage backup, no hot water - call now and we'll get a truck moving.

Commercial Plumbing
Jetting, backflow testing, lift stations and CIPP for buildings that can't afford downtime.
SMALL JOBS WELCOME
Yes, We'll Come Out for That
Seattle homeowners tell us the same story constantly: they called four plumbers about a running toilet and nobody would show up for a job that small. We will. Small repairs are how most of our customers meet us, and we'd rather earn your trust on a $200 job than wait around for a $15,000 one.

Why Seattle Calls Grindstone Guys
No Job Too Small — and No Job Too Big
We take the running toilet and we take the full sewer replacement. You don’t need to figure out whether your problem is “worth” calling about, and you don’t need a second company when it turns out to be bigger than you thought.
You See the Pipe Before You See a Bill
Every diagnosis starts with a full-color camera inspection, and you get a copy of the footage. If we recommend a repair, you’ll see why on video first.
Upfront Pricing, Written Before We Start
You approve a number before any work begins. No hourly surprises, no discovering the price after the hole is already open.
Trenchless First, Excavation Only When Needed
CIPP lining and pipe bursting let us restore most lines without tearing up driveways, patios or mature landscaping — often at a fraction of open-trench cost.
Family Owned and Referral Driven
We’re not a franchise with a commissioned sales quota. We’re a local family business that grows on neighbors telling neighbors.
We Handle the Permits and the City
Side sewer work in Seattle means permits and inspections. We coordinate with the city so you don’t have to learn the process.
24/7 Emergency Response
Sewage doesn’t wait for business hours. Neither do we.
